See how the Etihad Airways', Fly With The Best, Train With The Best competition winners got on at their exclusive behind the scenes training day at Harlequins' training ground
The main event of the last two weeks was the Brazilian carnival; it was quite something. I decided to stay in Tatui as it is the city of music, due to a large university dedicated to music. It was spectacular seeing everyone coming together to have fun and watch the parades.
Everybody was so relaxed, it's a time where differences mean nothing and everybody comes together to have fun and enjoy the carnival week. As you can see from my photos on the Harlequins Facebook page it is very lively and colourful, with lots of different costumes.
With my hotel literally in front of all the festivities, I didn't get too much sleep last week and tried to get involved as much as I could. I'm sure the larger carnivals in Rio and Sao Paulo are much more spectacular, but in a small city you're actually in the action and up close to everything which makes it that much more special. If you ever get the chance to go I strongly recommend it as you will have the time of your life.
We had our first event on the Saturday after the carnival to recruit some more players for the teams, and I'm happy to say we recruited around 50 percent of the people that came down to try so it shows that this project is working for all.
Please follow TRY RUGBY SP on Facebook and follow on twitter TRY RUGBY BRAZIL as there is more up to date information about all the cities. If you want more updates of Tatui please follow me @adriansilvester.
