Quins under 19s produced a remarkable comeback to beat Leeds Tykes 19 - 17.
4 November 2003 09:36am
On a bright sunny Saturday Quins kicked off and produced some very determined play and stayed camped in the Tykes half for some 20 minutes but failed to capitalise. A couple of penalties were missed and gradually Tykes fought back into the game and eventually scored a try under the posts which was converted and then scored again 10 minutes from the interval.
Immediately after the restart Quins moved up a gear and a superb interception by Tosh Masson on the halfway opened the points for Quins, with Duncan James converting. 10 minutes later a well worked move saw Mike Brown going over for Quin's second try and Ryan Cheal missed the convertion. Some minutes later Mike Brown went over again in the corner and Duncan James converted. Tykes scored a late consolation try, but the day really rested with the magnificent effort of Quins in the second half producing some fine running rugby.
