Harlequins U21 squad notched up another big score in their second game of the season away to Hertford RFC 2nd XV, ending up 89-15 winners. Following the cancellation of the scheduled Newport game, it was important that the squad got a thorough work-out, and the Hertford side certainly got stuck in and made the Quins forwards work hard for possession. It was, however the pace and running skills of the backs that led to the majority of the thirteen tries, although Cracknell and Nazer ensured that forwards also took their share of try scoring credit!
With an U19 game on the same day, and several academy players involved with 1st and 2nd XV rugby, it was pleasing to give the full squad match experience. The game highlighted several areas of play that need to be worked on for this week's game against Rotherham who will provide a sterner test. Hertford took their three tries well and stuck to their guns admirably as the game progressed.
