Harlequins are delighted to announce the re-signings of two locks, Ollie Kohn and Peter Browne.
Ollie Kohn joined Quins from Bristol in the summer of 2006 and made his club debut in the pre-season friendly against ASM Clermont on 6th August that summer. He has since gone on to make 88 appearances for the London side.
As one of our biggest men, approaching the 20 stone mark, he offers a physical presence, which is a real challenge to opposition.
Not only does he scrummage and maul well, but he is also a strong ball carrier, with the ability to offload.
Ollie Kohn, says:
"I am really pleased to have re-signed. Quins is a great club, with great facilities and a great atmosphere. I look forward to the next two years, where I am sure I will be challenged by the exciting young players coming through."
Peter Browne joined Harlequins from Newcastle Falcons at the beginning of the 2010/11 season. He made his competitive debut in the London Double Header against Wasps on 4th September, 2010.
Browne can play second row and number 8. He has been capped by England Students and made 27 appearances for the Kingston Park club. Since joining Quins he has made 19 appearances at second row. His back-row experience makes him a very athletic lock, as he is a good support player, with excellent handling skills.
Peter Browne, says:
"The mentality of the club, going forward, develops talent and I think it is a place where I can develop as a player and as a person."
Harlequins Director of Rugby, Conor O'Shea, says:
" We are delighted that these two players have commited themselves to the club for the next couple of years. Having recovered from a long term injury Ollie has just got stronger and stronger as the year has gone on and not alone is he the ultimate team man but he also provides the team with a massive physical presence. Peter joined us as a player who could play at lock or number eight but has now commited to lock and has become a genuine premiership performer who at 23 is just going to get better and better."
