Harlequins player, Luke Wallace, commented on the importance of grassroots rugby:
"It was great to see so many young guys out there enjoying themselves in what was a great competition of rugby. The team work on display was especially good and the standard of the two teams who played in the final was really impressive. I am looking forward to seeing the winners parading around at the Premiership final."
Richard Varney, from Harlequins' Community department commented:
"Harlequins Rugby Club are delighted to be associated with the Land Rover Premiership Cup.
"Our Quins associated Junior Rugby clubs, who took part in the event on 6th March, are already asking when we are likely to run next season's event.
"I think the event will go from strength to strength and we look forward to seeing the winners at the forthcoming Aviva Premiership Final.
"By taking the event away from our famous Twickenham Stoop home it really demonstrates the desire for both Quins and Land Rover to provide opportunities at a grass roots level for the next generation of players and supporters alike."
The Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup attracts the finest Under 11 and Under 12 teams from the various regions, and as a result, it has continued to build in prestige from its inception, with participation at an all time high. The benefit and enjoyment that the youngsters are clearly deriving from the festivals gives great satisfaction to Land Rover, who had hoped for exactly this when establishing the first ever festivals to be officiated by their long-standing partners Premiership Rugby.
Commenting on the support of the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup, Anthony Bradbury, Marketing Director of Land Rover UK, said:
"We are delighted that the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup has been such a success. It is a significant initiative which provides a unique opportunity for young players to channel their enthusiasm for the sport and to play in a national tournament. Land Rover's commitment to rugby now covers all levels of the game, supporting the elite of the England team to young players of the future, and this is something we are extremely proud of."
