Matthew Witt, Fixtures Secretary for Richmond FC said: "Richmond's main motivation to enter for the first time this year was due to parents and players being supporters of Harlequins. The Etihad Airways Curtain Raiser Cup is an exciting opportunity for our teams and having such a large tournament so close to us is great. Extra competition benefits the children and allows them to put what they have learnt in training into practise."

Head coaches Ian Grundy and Jim Kottler shouted encouragement from the sidelines throughout Qualifying and the Semi Finals and despite the winter weather Richmond's spirits were not dampened!

Matthew Witt added: "The Minis really enjoyed the experience especially getting to play in the Stoop stadium. It was very exciting for them to play on the pitch before their idles and we will enter again next year, an exciting opportunity not to be missed."

The Grand Finals of the Etihad Airways Curtain Raiser Cup for the U10, U11 and U12 age groups will be held on Saturday 2nd April. Following the Grand Finals, Quins V Leicester Tigers will be battling it out for a valuable win, 5.30pm KO.

The U7, U8, and U9 Grand Finals will take place on Saturday 26th March. Following these Grand Finals all the teams will have the opportunity to watch the Quins V Gloucester match, 2:15pm KO.

Each winning team will receive individual medals and a spectacular trophy to take back to their club with pride.
