The Christmas period saw Quins get a big result in the Big Game at Twickenham in front of a 74,000 strong crowd, beating London Irish 28-18, and then forcing a 13-16 win at Franklin's Gardens on New Year's Day to inflict a rare home defeat on league leaders Northampton Saints.

Director of Rugby Conor O'Shea is positive that Quins can continue this form going into 2011.

"The Christmas period to date has been a positive one for us with the results against London Irish in Big Game 3 and against Northampton in Franklin's Gardens both being positive. The importance of backing that up against a Wasps side lying fourth in the table is huge because the players know all their efforts, especially when down to 13 men for ten minutes on Saturday, would be wasted if we do not back it up."

Quins' first home game of 2011 is against historic rivals London Wasps, and with both teams on a great run of recent results and closely matched in the Premiership table, O'Shea is looking forward to Saturday's encounter.

"Local derbies are special and this will be a massive contest given our relative positions in the table. We have a proud home record and have no intention of letting that go."
