The centre of your body or your 'core' is a network of muscles which when strengthened provides the basic control and stability needed for all movement.
Pilates is a series of exercises designed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th Century, his method seeks to increase the strength, flexibility and control of the body. Pilates builds your body's 'core' strength through this series of low impact exercises, but not only will your core be worked out in Pilates, you will get a balanced full body workout, improving posture and improving or correcting muscle imbalances.
Benefits of Pilates:
Improving posture
Improving or correcting muscle imbalances
Reduce blood pressure
Improve balance, coordination, strength and flexibility
Improve joint mobility
Improve Respiratory, Lymphatic and Circulatory systems
Lower incidence of back pain
