Rugby World editor Paul Morgan, who chairs the panel, commented: "Harlequins enjoyed a sensational January as they began to mount their Treble challenge and at the centre of their stellar performances was Captain Chris Robshaw."
"Often quiet and unassuming Robshaw is the club's Silent Assassin performing a crucial role for the team, much of his work coming away from the limelight. He's a great team man and a worthy winner."
The Player of the Month accolade comes as a result of a number of eye-catching displays from the Quins skipper that have taken him to the cusp of the England elite squad. Touted by many as being a future England captain, the 24 year has led by example this season earning such plaudits that liken him to World Cup winner Richard Hill.
Chris spoke of the pride he felt for being named January's Player of the Month: "To receive the award after the likes of Thomas Waldrom and Tommy Hayes, who have been so impressive for Leicester and Exeter respectively, it's a huge honour. The team have been magnificent of late and the morale around the club is sky high, it's a great place to be right now."
Harlequins director of rugby Conor O'Shea said: "I am delighted that Chris has received the award as it is thoroughly deserved. He is an outstanding player, who not only leads by example as a Captain and wants to see Quins succeed, but also wants to push on for International honours, which he so richly deserves."
Heather Smith, Head of Sponsorship for Premiership Rugby sponsors Aviva added: "As captain of a successful Harlequins side a lot rests on Chris, yet he seems to take it all in his stride and has produced a number of stalwart performances."
