Congratulations to Ugo Monye on his inclusion in the 2009 British & Irish Lions squad, which will travel to South Africa in May, for the 10-match, three-Test tour. The squad comprises 20 forwards and 17 three-quarters selected from the best players within the Four Home Unions: Ireland, Wales, England and Scotland.
After an impressive season, which has seen Ugo be an integral part of Harlequins' successful Guinness Premiership and Heineken Cup campaigns, along with gaining six England caps, the Quins winger has received one of the greatest honours in rugby - a place on the prestigious British and Irish Lions Tour.
"I really cannot believe it; it truly is the best day of my life. This is something I have dreamed of since I can remember and I cannot put into words how amazing it feels right now.
"I want to thank everyone who has believed in me, all the players, coaching and office staff at Harlequins and, of course, the fans who have supported me in reaching my dream. Thank you!
"It is a real honour to be selected for a team that has included so many of rugby's legends in the past, and I intend to relish every moment!"
