April was a monumental month for Harlequins with the final stages of the Heineken Cup and Guinness Premiership league to compete for.
Quins overall were hugely successful and Mike Brown, the Etihad Player of the Month for April was a truly instrumental player at guiding Quins to some hard fought victories
Brown was in inspiring form from the beginning of the month when Quins hosted Worcester. He was solid in both attack and defence, scoring a try and helping his side demolish Worcester, 60 - 14, earning a vital bonus point. Then against Bath he showed how he has developed as a player, keeping up a strong defensive shield for the entire 80 minutes against a physical Bath side. Thus securing another vital win away at The Rec for Quins winning 3-19.
For the Heineken Cup Quarter Final against Leinster, Quins were once again on top form. Agonisingly having gone six points down, Brown fought back to open the scoring for Quins in the second half. But unfortunately it wasn't to be enough, losing the game 5-6.
Back at the Stoop for Abu Dhabi Day, when Quins took on Newcastle Falcons, the team were in scintillating form going out to secure a bonus point victory. Brown once again showing his attacking prowess, as he finished off a vital move to touch down and secure the well deserved bonus point in the first half. These fantastic performances have earnt Mike Brown ,a truly well earned Etihad Airways Player of the Month award.
