The first London and South West Academy 12's tournament took place on Saturday 2nd May at Harrow school.
A team picked from our U15 Surrey and Sussex schools of rugby represented Harlequins Academy, facing opposition that included, Bath, Bristol, Gloucester, London Irish, London Wasps and Saracens Academies.
The 12 a side matches were 15 minutes in duration, and with 6 games in 3 hours, it was a pretty demanding schedule. Often the boys literally only having time to take on fluids and walk to the next field in between matches.
After one training session, held at Roehampton last Tuesday, the team made a very good account of themselves against sides that train and play together regularly over the season.
