Olly Kohn and Jordan Turner-Hall headed down to Singapore to partake in the Norton Rose mini and Youth Rugby 10's tournament.
On 5th and 6th December 2009, Centaurs Rugby, the largest youth rugby club in Singapore, hosted the 4th Singapore International Mini and Youth Rugby 10s tournament and through our club sponsors, Norton Rose Group (who are also lead sponsors of the tournament), two of our very own Quins players, Olly Kohn and Jordan Turner-Hall, were invited to partake in the weekend's events.
Despite monsoon season being in full force in Singapore, nothing dampened the spirits of the 157 teams from 37 clubs and schools from Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and China who battled it out to become the 2009 champions.
When not congratulating or consoling the players, Olly and Jordan divided their time between presenting trophies, signing autographs, chatting with parents, posing for team photos and staving off a swathe of admirers.
Aside from the tournament itself, Olly and Jordan took the time to host a youth rugby clinic organised by Centaurs Rugby offering children their first ever opportunity to learn and practise various ball-handling and kicking skills with these professional players.
Norton Rose Group thanks Olly and Jordan for going beyond the call of duty to attend and bring a new dimension to this ever-growing tournament and rugby's development in South East Asia. They are true ambassadors of the game of rugby and a testament to the Harlequins' name.
