Quins Head Coach, John Kingston, gives us his thoughts on last weekend's game against Northampton and looks ahead to this Saturday's game against Gloucester at the Stoop. Harlequins V Gloucester, Saturday 28th November. Kick off 3pm.
We were very disappointed to lose our first Premiership game in five last weekend at Northampton. It was all the more frustrating because we created several opportunities on the day and failed to make them count. Franklin's Gardens was always going to be a tough challenge but I really felt that a great chance had passed us by.
Against this, we are determined to get back into the winning habit when we welcome Gloucester this Saturday to the Stoop. They will have been pleased to get a much needed win against Leicester last week as they have endured a difficult start to the season.
All clubs in the Premiership will be pleased to have their International contingent return to their clubs and we are no different as we welcome Danny Care and Ugo Monye back after their duties with England over recent weeks. The next two months sees a great opportunity for continuity in terms of available players and I am sure we can use this period to make some big strides up the League. The Premiership is very much a marathon and not a sprint and while some teams have started quite quickly this season, there will be many twists and turns over the next five months or so. We are very clear of what we are capable of as a group and are determined to now kick on - both in terms of results and in the style we play.
