Congratulations to Nick Easter who has been voted the Etihad Airways Player of the Month for October.
The first match of the month saw Bath visit The Stoop. Under the watchful eye of the imposing new South Stand, Quins kick started their season with flashes of brilliance and a never say die attitude. Nick Easter was influential in the win over Bath when he produced a heroic try in the dying seconds of the game, which left players and spectators in suspense, as referee Wayne Barnes deferred the decision to the TMO.
In the Heineken Cup, Easter was instrumental in attack and defence against French side Toulouse. The powerful running and big hitting number 8 showed why he was selected for Martin Johnson's England Squad, by putting in a fine display against one of the favourites for the Heineken Cup. Unfortunately, Quins were edged out in the end by a more clinical outfit. However, it was certainly a game where Easter and Quins showed the passion and desire that got them so far in last year's European competition. Sadly due to injury, Nick Easter is likely to miss out on the Autumn Internationals with England.
Congratulations also goes out to Mathew Lock who voted for this month's Etihad Airways Player of the Month. As well as receiving a limited edition replica Harlequins jersey, Mathew also got the opportunity to ask Nick Easter:
Q: "Who is the biggest prankster in the dressing room?
NE: "I would have to say that I am probably the biggest prankster in the dressing room. I always like to play tricks on the other boys especially when the "big dogs" get new kit from their sponsors. I always open up their boxes from the bottom and replace their new gear with old left over kit - works every time!"
