Falcons are a new and exciting squad which has been much improved on since last year. They gave Leicester a tough match last Saturday at Welford Road and at Kingston Park they will be extremely difficult to beat.
They have a very strong scrum and if their backs - Tom Biggs, Alex Tait or Rob Vickerman - are given the chance, they could really do some damage. Falcons are always strong at home but I am sure the Quins boys will be confident and ready for their first win.
Here are my three to watch...
Carl Hayman (Captain) - Prop
The ex-All Blacks prop is probably the best tight head in the game. He is hugely influential and experienced and there will definitely be a big battle between him and Ceri Jones tonight.
Jimmy Gopperth - Fly-half
Jimmy was previously the fly-half with Super 14 side, The Hurricanes, where he would have faced Nick Evans many times back in New Zealand. This time he and Nick will be battling it out for supremacy in the Guinness premiership.
He is a good kicker, both out of hand and in front of the posts, and controls the game very well.
Tom Biggs - Wing
Tom is a England 7s regular, and as you would expect from a 7s player, very quick. I played with him in the England 7s team and England Saxons. He has good feet and is a strong finisher.
He was at Leeds before he moved to Newcastle and as he and Danny Care are good friends from their early days at Leeds, he will be looking forward to giving Danny a run for his money.
Falcons V Quins, Friday 25th September. Kick off 8pm.
