Join Harlequins Chief Executive, Mark Evans, tomorrow in Quins territory and wave him on his way.
For those of you who don't already know, Harlequins Chief Executive, Mark Evans, is attempting to walk 150 miles around the entire London Loop over six days, to raise money for the award-winning London children's charity Friends United Network (FUN). FUN is a voluntary organisation set up in 1983 to provide long-term, one-to-one friendship and support to children in need (aged 5 - 16 on referral) and growing up in socially isolated, lone-parent families.
In yesterday's blazing sunshine, Mark started the walk and is currently half-way through day two. Tomorrow's route takes him through Quins territory , which includes the Hogsmill River along to the Thames and Bushey Park in the morning, and Hounslow Heath, the flight path of Heathrow airport, the River Crane and the Grand Union Canal in the afternoon.
By lunchtime tomorrow (Wednesday) Mark will have already completed 49 miles. So, if you fancy waving him on for the remaining 101 miles, why not join him at The Amida Hampton, where he will be stopping for lunch, before departing at 2pm.
The distance of the route will equate to walking a marathon a day for six days, and with the soaring temperatures making it even more challenging, every little bit of support is appreciated.
It's not too late for you to get involved:
1. Join in and walk all or part of the Loop with Mark. (Sections from eight miles.)
Please visit www.friendsunitednetwork.org.uk to view a summary of the route. Then indicate the section(s) you would like to walk and send in your registration form, via email, post or fax. Details are available on the website.
