In addition to passing the 4,000 total in Season Ticket sales, NEC Harlequins are delighted to announce that Lexus are to sponsor the new West stand at the Stoop Memorial Ground. The start of the 2005/06 season will see Quins officially open the Lexus stand at their famous home, which will provide an additional 3,850 covered seats and bring the capacity of the stadium to 12,700.
By reaching the 4,000 mark in Season Ticket sales means that just under a third of the stadium will be sold out for all of Quins home matches in National Division One next season. Furthermore, the club has only one of their 36 corporate hospitality boxes for the season left to sell.
"The Season Ticket campaign continues to exceed our expectations," said Tony Copsey, NEC Harlequins Managing Director. "With two months still to go before our first home league game of the new campaign, we're hopeful of further sales and ensuring that our fixtures are played in front of some of the biggest crowds ever witnessed in National Division One."
The Lexus stand will bring high quality new facilities to the Stoop, including a new members' bar, a new club shop, 14 corporate hospitality boxes, three new corporate lounges, new player and officials' changing facilities, new club offices and new media facilities. The introduction of the Lexus stand will arguably make the Stoop the best purpose built club rugby stadium in Britain.
"Lexus is an exciting new partner to compliment an already great range of sponsors and business partners the club has," said Joe Troedson, NEC Harlequins Sponsorship Director. "Lexus is a very progressive brand with high standards of quality and service, mirroring the brand values of NEC Harlequins."
Steve Settle, Lexus Director said: "Lexus is delighted to enter a sponsorship agreement with NEC Harlequins, a club with such a great history and one of the best known rugby clubs in the UK, arguably the world. We are also very impressed by Quins' commitment in promoting the game of rugby union to children of all ages."
"We are especially pleased to have acquired the naming rights for the new Lexus stand and we are confident that many great games will be witnessed from here over the years ahead. Lexus is going from strength to strength in the UK as we launch an exciting range of new models throughout this year. As our brand develops, we see a strong synergy with the strengthening of the Quins brand, both on and off the field."
