NEC Harlequins are delighted to confirm the signing of South African international scrum half Dave von Hoesslin.
The 29 year-old will be with the club until the end of the season, with the option to stay at the Stoop for a further 12 months after that. He arrives in the UK at the beginning of next week and will be available for selection for Quins Zurich Premiership fixture away to Leicester Tigers on Saturday 29th January.
Von Hoesslin won five full caps for the Springboks in 1999, having represented South Africa Schools, Students and A sides earlier in his career. He joins Quins from the Natal Sharks, with whom von Hoesslin competed in both the Currie Cup and Super 12 competitions. Prior to joining the Sharks, he played for the Cats and also had a brief spell with the Stormers in 2000.
While von Hoesslin is joining Quins, back row forward Maama Molitika will be on loan to the Cardiff Blues until the end of the season.
