NEC Harlequins make one change to the team that started against Bath a fortnight ago (Saturday 26th February) for the game against Newcastle Falcons in the Zurich Premiership at the Stoop on Sunday (13th March), kick-off 2.00pm.
In the pack, Simon Maling misses out due to a groin injury, so Simon Miall comes into the second row to partner Jim Evans. Roy Winters takes Miall's place on the bench, while the back division is unchanged.
There are two other changes amongst the replacements, with Ace Tiatia and Dave von Hoesslin replacing James Hayter and Gavin Duffy respectively. Hayter is also out due to a groin injury, while Duffy is part of the Ireland team playing France in the Six Nations Championship in Dublin tomorrow.
"We produced an excellent second half display against Bath a fortnight ago," said Mark Evans, NEC Harlequins Chief Executive. "We looked after the ball well and ensured that much of the game was played deep in their territory to allow us to score the two converted tries we needed to win the match by 17-15. It was a performance of real character and one that has given us a lot of confidence ahead of our remaining five games."
"Despite having had a mixed set of results in the league just recently, Newcastle produced a great fight back to come away with a share of the points against Gloucester last time out, which will no doubt put them in good spirits going into Sunday's contest."
"In recent years a single score has usually separated the outcome of Quins / Newcastle matches, with the result more often than not being decided in the closing stages. Having not been beaten by the Falcons at the Stoop since September 2000, we can be confident of extending that winning run on Sunday, but it will require a big performance from us."
