The Stoop Memorial Ground will host the Compass Group International 7's tournament on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th August 2004, and spectators are set to witness two-days of top class rugby with some of the biggest names in the game on show.
Teams who have already confirmed their attendance include Australia and New Zealand Legends, Durban Harlequins, Fiji Global Samurai, Starbora Orange and Samurai International, as well as Zurich Premiership clubs NEC Harlequins, Saracens, Gloucester and Northampton Saints.
Players who have confirmed their attendance include Fijian legend Waisale Serevei, the star of the New Zealand sevens squad Amasio Valence, South African World Cup winner Joost van der Westhuizen, along with England sevens experts Henry Paul and Simon Amor (both Gloucester).
Saracens look set to be one of the tournament favourites with Thomas Castaignede, Richard Haughton and Dan Scarbrough in their squad, while the New Zealand pair of Bruce Reihana and Andrew Blowers will lead the Northampton Saints challenge.
Ugo Monye is set to feature in the Quins squad, along with Tom Williams and Kai Hortsmann, all of whom represented England in the IRB World Sevens Series last season.
The global feel of the competition has already generated major excitement throughout the sevens circuit and with prize money totaling £40,000, spectators can expect to witness two-days of thrilling and competitive sevens rugby.
