On Saturday (13th March) NEC Harlequins Under 19's faced their Bedford counterparts at Teddington Sports Ground. With nine regular Under 19's playing for the Under 21 team, it was a young Quins side that took the field, most of whom will be available next season.
Quins took a while to get into their stride and Bedford took full advantage of this with an early score. The visitors then managed to stretch their lead before half-time with a second try. Dene Richards got Quins only points of the game with a penalty.
The second half was a more even affair with the Quins pack competing well and the backs tightening up their defence. However, Bedford scored another try to make the final score 19-3.
Harry Rowland had a good game on his debut, while Ryan Cheal was impressive at Full Back
