For the second time in as many weeks, NEC Harlequins Under 21's recorded over 60 points against senior opposition, eventually finishing 62-10 winners against Moseley 2nd XV on Saturday (20th March).
Playing into a strong wind in the first half, Quins were unable to capitalise on the amount of possession and had a tendency to over complicate attacking play. With miss passes blowing away in the wind, or simply going to ground, the game had a stop-start feel for the first 40 minutes. With the half time score at 13-3 in Quins favour, the Midlanders must have felt within striking distance.
In the second half, the young Quins side began to gather momentum and playing from a stable platform of early phase ball, the backs were able to cut loose. Powerful runs from Brown and Barratt in the centres allowed the gain line to be repeatedly breached and the pace of the game proved too much for the Moseley side.
