It was an action packed weekend for Westcombe Park Rugby Club's Mini section on Sunday (21st March). Early in the morning NEC Harlequins Community Coach James Skeens led a series of coaching sessions across the age groups as the strong partnership with Quins continues to develop.
After the training, a group of players and coaches raced down to Bluewater Shopping Centre to help showcase the Rugby World Cup where members of the public were able to have their photo taken with the Webb Ellis trophy.
The players where then on the move again as they were invited to Dulwich College later that afternoon to attend an England rugby coaching session organised with other Kent clubs. The players were put through their paces by RFU qualified coaches as the World Cup was presented in front of an assembled group of dignitaries.
On Saturday (27th March), Westcombe Park Under 8's will play in the semi-final of the Richmond & Twickenham Times Cup at the Stoop prior to Quins Zurich Premiership fixture against Leicester Tigers.
Westcombe Park are fast becoming one of the premier Kent clubs at mini rugby level with at least two teams at every age group from Under 6 to Under 12 years, and their strategic alliance with NEC Harlequins has only served to underline the ambition of the club.
