Parker Pen Challenge Cup Champions NEC Harlequins are delighted to announce that the following players will be joining the club for the 2004/2005 season:
Dafydd James - Winger / Centre
Dafydd James has won 41 caps for Wales after making his debut against Australia on 22nd June 1996. He played in all three test matches for the British and Irish Lions against Australia in 2001, scoring a try in the first test victory by 29-13. The 28 year-old is joining Quins from the Celtic Warriors and has signed a two-year contract.
Jeremy Staunton - Fly Half / Full Back
Jeremy Staunton won his first cap for Ireland against Samoa on 11th November 2001. Prior to this he represented his country at Under 18, Under 19 and Under 21 level, as well as playing for Ireland A. The 24 year-old is joining Quins from Munster and has signed a two-year contract.
Maurice Fitzgerald - Tight Head Prop
Maurice Fitzgerald represented England earlier in his career at Under 18, Under 19 and Under 21 level. He has also played for England A and was part of the squad that competed in the 2003 A Six Nations Championship. The 28 year-old is joining Quins from Biarritz Olympique and has signed a two-year contract.
Joe Mbu - Winger
Joe Mbu is 22 years-old and is joining Quins from Bath. He has signed a one-year contract.

"They range from the experienced international in the form of Dafydd James, through to the exciting potential of Joe Mbu, as we look forward to planning what we hope will be another successful season, including our return to the Heineken Cup. I'm confident all four will make a significant contribution to the squad."
At this time, NEC Harlequins would expect to announce three further signings at some stage over the summer.
