NEC Harlequins have been presented with a prestigious award from Greene King. The club has beaten thousands of pubs, clubs, hotels and restaurants to win 'Sales Achievement of the Year' title in the company's national Excellence Awards.
Since Greene King was appointed supplier and sponsor of the club last summer, sales of cask ale have soared at the Stoop with increasing numbers of supporters enjoying the taste of Greene King IPA.
"We could not be more pleased with our relationship with Greene King," said Tony Copsey, NEC Harlequins Managing Director. "This award highlights the popularity of introducing Greene King IPA at the Stoop. It also shows that if you look after cask beer properly, you can convert people to the real thing! Our partnership with Greene King is proving to be a great success and one we are looking forward to developing in the future."
"Quins emerged as the clear winner in the Sales Achievement category," said Matt Brown, Sales Director of Greene King. "The huge amount of work the club has put into improving bar facilities for supporters and looking after the beer has paid off. Cask ale has been selling fantastically well at the Stoop, which goes to show not just how well the Club has done, but also what good taste the Quins supporters have!"
The Excellence Awards recognise the contribution made to the success of Greene King as an independent brewer and wholesaler by their customers. As Matt says: "Our customers are our partners. Our business succeeds when our customers succeed. NEC Harlequins scores on delivering great value for supporters, at the same time as building commercial opportunities for the club and being a great team to work with!"
