On Saturday (11th December) NEC Harlequins Wanderers travelled to Esher to take on their Second XV. Esher's pack competed well in the early exchanges but Quins backs showed their class and looked dangerous when given space to attack their opposite numbers.
Full back Charlie Amesbury opened the scoring with the first try of the afternoon. Following some hard yards from the forwards, centre Mike Brown went over for his first try of the afternoon which was soon followed by a score from winger Chuko.
Esher kept themselves in the match with a try just before half-time, making the score at the break 21-5 to Quins. However, in the second half the fitness of the Wanderers side started to show. Steve Jay scored two tries with Brown adding his second between them.
This was closely followed by Kiba Richards touching down and then fellow winger Chuko added his second to the tally. The scoring was rounded off by Brown, who completed his hat-trick. As well as some excellent running rugby, captain Luke Cousins had a great afternoon with the boot, finishing with a 100% record by converting all nine tries that made the final score 63-5.
