London Wasps have named their team for this Sunday's (22nd February) Zurich Premiership clash against us; kick-off 6.00pm at the Causeway Stadium. Due to international call-ups and injuries, Director of Rugby Warren Gatland has had to make a number of changes from the side that beat Rotherham last weekend (14th February).
Mark Van Gisbergen is named at full back but is still suffering from a shoulder injury, so will undergo a fitness test on Sunday morning to see if he can start. His return means Tom Voyce switches to left wing with John Rudd on the right. Alex King's leg injury means Peter Richards retains his position at fly half, with captain Rob Howley at scrum half.
The pack is where the majority of the changes have been made. Richard Birkett returns to the second row after recovering from a kidney injury during Wasps game against London Irish in December.
Injuries to Paul Volley (hamstring) and Jonny O'Connor (achilles), along with a shortage of back row specialists (Lawrence Dallaglio - England, Joe Worsley - hamstring, John Hart - hamstring, James Haskell - knee), means George Skivington moves from his customary position of lock to blindside flanker. Ian Clarke starts on the openside with Mark Lock completing the back row at number eight.
Simon Shaw is named on the bench. However, Shaw is also on the bench for England's game against Scotland tomorrow (21st February). If he doesn't take the field against Scotland, Gatland will be hoping to slot him into the side.
