Richmond & Twickenham Times Curtain Raiser

The final group matches of this seasons Richmond & Twickenham Times Cup were held before the match with Saracens on Saturday (7th February). Over 320 players from six clubs played in 45 matches; the biggest ever curtain raiser at the Stoop.
Chobham produced some excellent rugby to progress to the semi-finals in all four age groups and look set to challenge for final places. Amersham and Chiltern Under7's and Under 8's will join Chobham in the semi-finals and played some superb rugby to top their groups.
Westcombe Park, our newest associate club, found the going tough in the Under 7's and 8's but put in some fine performances to qualify in the Under 9's and 10's age group.
All the teams played with excellent spirit throughout. The unlucky clubs were Ellingham and Ringwood, Sidcup and Upminster, and although they missed out played with plenty of skill and determination.
Well done to all the players and coaches from every club who took part. The semi-finals of the Richmond and Twickenham Times Cup will be staged before NEC Harlequins home games against Leicester (27th March) and Rotherham (16th April) and will be drawn this week and posted here on the website.
