On Saturday (23rd October) NEC Harlequins Wanderers defeated Cambridge University by 36-12 at Staines Rugby Club, with the game played in the worse conditions faced so far this season.
Quins started well and it was not long before the midfield was causing problems and it was Tosh Masson who opened the scoring with his typical strong direct running. This was followed by a try from Masson's midfield partner Liam Lonergan, who impressed in what was only his second game in a Quins shirt. By this stage, the game was all one way traffic with Ben Thomson ruling the lineouts.
Quins added to the scoreline with both wingers going over. After Chinadu scored, it was closely followed by a great individual try from Chuko. Tom Guest then added to the tally and completed Quins try scoring in the match. However, Cambridge University did manage to score two tries in the last ten minutes to make the final scoreline 36-12.
