The BPA Brecon Beacons Walk will talk place over the weekend of Friday 25th to Sunday 27th June. The walk will take place on the Saturday which will give enough time for relaxing and socialising with the rest of the group in the evening, or for nursing those blisters!! We're hoping for some good weather too!
We are looking for more volunteers to join the group or to help us raise funds, so if you are interested then please call
Anne McCarthy in the Quins office on
0208 410 6000 or by email at
annem@quins.co.uk
Our aim is to raise £9,000 for the BPA - this equates to £300 per person for the group of 30. Everyone involved will be asked to help raise this amount through group or individual effort and all suggestions will be welcomed! Quins will also be helping the fundraising efforts over the next few months.
The provisional Itinerary is as follows:
• Travel to Wales on Friday night. Stay in Brynich campsite in tented accommodation.
• Rise early on Saturday morning to start walking at about 8.00am. The walk will involve walking three peaks in the Brecon Beacons - Penyfan (3rd highest in country), Fanybig and Fanfar (which is used by the SAS as a training ground) and then walking on to the campsite. This will involve an overall walk of approximately eight hours.
• Back to campsite for a rest, BBQ, drinks and social activities.
• Travel home on Sunday morning.
We are hoping to arrange travel by minibus from Quins, but arrangements will be confirmed once we have definite numbers.
There will be an admin / entrance fee of £40 per person to cover accommodation, food and travel.
£9,000 will go a long way to help the BPA send an athlete to the Paralympics later this year. If you are free and fancy a walk then why not join in!
