NEC Harlequins are delighted to announce the signing of centre Viliame Satala on a two-year contract. He joins Quins from French club side Mont de Marsan.
30 year-old Satala has won 25 caps for Fiji and scored 16 tries for his country. He was named by Stephen Jones of the Sunday Times as "the best outside centre of the 1999 World Cup." He is also a regular member of the Fijian Sevens squad and will be competing in the Commonwealth Games in Manchester this weekend.
"We are delighted to have secured the services of Viliame, who is undoubtedly one of the best centres in world rugby," said Mark Evans, NEC Harlequins Chief Executive. "Along with Will Greenwood and Chris Bell, he gives us real depth and ability in the midfield position. If he is able to repeat his form from the last World Cup then I'm sure he will quickly become a firm favourite with the Quins supporters."
During week commencing 22nd April Harlequins will launch an innovative, new Membership Scheme which will replace the existing Season Ticket Holder Programme. Further details of the scheme will be announced in due course.
