NEC Harlequins make five changes to the team that started against Stade Francais in Parker Pen Challenge Cup last Saturday (14th December 2002) for tomorrows (Saturday 21st December 2002) game against Leeds Tykes in the Powergen Cup 6th Round at the Stoop, kick-off 3.00pm.
In the backs, Nick Duncombe has recovered from a hamstring injury and takes the place of Scott Bemand at scrum half. Will Greenwood returns and will partner Chris Bell in the centre, with Viliame Satala amongst the replacements. Ben Gollings returns from England Sevens duty and is on the left wing in place of Rob Jewell.
In the pack, captain Andre Vos returns having been ineligible for the two games against Stade and replaces Ace Tiatia in the back row. Alex Codling has recovered from a foot injury and comes in for Jim Evans in the second row.
Keith Wood is on the bench and is in the squad for the first time since playing against Saracens on 10th November 2002.
"We know that we face a difficult game against Leeds this weekend," said Mark Evans, NEC Harlequins Head coach.
"You do not get to be third in the league at this stage of the season if you are not a very good team, which Leeds certainly are. However, I am delighted that we are now getting close to being able to select from a full strength squad for the first time this season."
"With Andre, Alex, Nick, Keith and Will all back in the squad we hope that we can start to build for the rest of the season. We were disappointed with our performance against Leeds back in September, and we owe it to our tremendous fans to put that right on Saturday afternoon."
