NEC Harlequins took part in the annual Rosslyn Park floodlit sevens tournament last night (Wednesday 9th May), now in its 31st year, where they secured a clean sweep of victories to come away with the trophy.
Besides Quins, the tournament also featured teams from Saracens and London Irish, together with invitation sides from outside the area, including Oxford and Cambridge Universities.
On the night, Quins came up against Oxford University and London Scottish in the group stages, defeating them 31-12 and 35-0 respectively. This earned them a semi-final tie against Cambridge University whom they beat 38-10.
This win set-up a final showdown against Esher, who got the better of Saracens in their semi-final, but it was Quins who claimed the trophy thanks to a comfortable 45-19 victory.
