Former Quins back row forward and Harlequins Captain Andre Vos has delighted the Club by signing up to continue his life at the Twickenham Stoop - by becoming a Gold season ticket holder for the 2007/08 season.
Vos joined Quins in November 2002 and captained the team to victory in the 2003/04 European Challenge Cup, as well as leading the side to the league and cup double (National Division One and Powergen National Trophy) last season. Vos missed just one of Quins 22 matches in the Guinness Premiership during the 2003/04 campaign and made 139 appearances in his five years playing for the Club.
He retired from professional rugby at the end of this season to pursue a career in the City, but the Club have by no means seen the last of this Harlequin legend.
"I've had five fantastic years at Harlequins," said Vos. "Although I've now retired, playing rugby is all I've done for so many years, so there's no way I can just turn my back on the sport! I think I've left the Club in good shape - I'm excited about the future for Quins as we've got a great deal of young talented players coming through, while Dean (Richards) is a very astute man who will develop what we achieved last season."
"It's going to be strange watching on next season without being able to have any influence on the outcome but I'm greatly looking forward to bringing the family and meeting up with friends to enjoy watching Quins go from strength to strength at the Stoop."
NEC Harlequins Managing Director, Tony Copsey said: "It's great to have Andre signed up for another year! He's been immense for Harlequins over the last five years and I'm delighted that he's decided to become a season ticket holder for the coming season."
Like Vos, you can now secure your seat for all Harlequins home matches at the Twickenham Stoop next year as season tickets for the 2007/08 season are now available, with supporters having the opportunity to sign up for
'The True Rugby Experience'.
"It's very pleasing to report that sales to date are ahead of where they were this time last year by over 500 tickets, with over 2,200 already sold," continued Copsey.
"Watching rugby at the Stoop is becoming more and more popular, with Quins enjoying record attendances and sell out crowds for our final three fixtures of last season, which is more than we ever expected in our first season back in the Premiership. With Quins enjoying capacity crowds, this once again highlights the only way to guarantee a seat at the Stoop for all matches is to buy a season ticket."
