<1R>Congratulations to David Strettle, who last night (Wednesday 2nd May) won the Nick Duncombe Memorial Award after being named Young Player of the Year at the Professional Rugby Players' Association dinner.
The 23 year-old winger won the award ahead of Wasps flanker Tom Rees, who was second and London Irish fly half Shane Geraghty in third while the other nominees were Newastle fly half Toby Flood and Gloucester centre Anthony Allen.
Strettle said: "Initially, I was just really pleased to be nominated alongside some great young players. Then to have won the award was a bit of a shock and just a brilliant feeling."
Strettle joined Quins from Rotherham last summer and finished his first Guinness Premiership season with eight league tries to his name. His outstanding performances for Quins resulted in him winning his first England cap against Ireland in this years Six Nations Championship (24th February), a match in which he scored a try on debut.
Strettle then won two further caps in the matches against France (11th March) and Wales (17th March), and earlier this week was selected in the England squad for the forthcoming tour to South Africa.
