Despite taking the maximum five points in the 26-10 victory over Connacht at the Twickenham Stoop on Saturday (20th January), NEC Harlequins have failed to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition as one of the best three pool runners-up.
Glasgow secured their place in the last eight following their 6-6 draw with Saracens on Friday night (19th January), while Newcastle's 50-6 victory away at Petrarca on Saturday secured them the third and final runners-up spot courtesy of scoring more tries than Quins in the group stages. Newcastle scored 27 tries in their six matches compared to 18 by Quins.
The full quarterfinal draw is as follows (seedings in brackets):
ASM Clermont Auvergne (1) Vs Newcastle Falcons (8)
Saracens (2) Vs Glasgow Warriors (7)
Bath Rugby (3) Vs Bristol Rugby (6)
Newport Gwent Dragons (4) Vs Brive (5)
*NB - Ties to be played over the weekend over 30th, 31st March and 1st April.
During week commencing 22nd April Harlequins will launch an innovative, new Membership Scheme which will replace the existing Season Ticket Holder Programme. Further details of the scheme will be announced in due course.
