Harlequins are delighted to announce that Corney & Barrow will be the Official Wine Supplier of the Club for the 2007/08 season.
Established in 1780 in the City of London, Corney & Barrow has gone from shop premises on Old Broad Street selling a rather limited selection of Port, Sherry and Bordeaux, to its position as a nationwide distributor with an enviable range of wines from all over the world. It remains, however, a resolutely independent company with a young and dynamic team dedicated to providing a bespoke service for every customer.
This service includes tastings, cellar plans, gift ideas and all manner of wine accessories to enhance the wine drinking experience! The agreement means that all the wine in the bars and hospitality suites at the Twickenham Stoop will be exclusively provided by Corney & Barrow.
John McBride, Harlequins Catering Manager, said: "As one of the oldest wine merchants in London it has a wide selection of both French classic's as well as stocking the latest new world varieties. It's a pleasure to deal with a traditional wine merchant who understands the customer's needs. Their wine list is extensive and allows me to tailor each menu that we produce to a wine that suits the specific products involved."
Oliver Hartley, Sales Director at Corney and Barrow commented: "This is a partnership between two like-minded companies with a commitment to excellence in their chosen field. We are proud to be associated with one of the world's top rugby clubs and we very much look forward to the start of the season."
