<1R>Harlequins Community Development officer, Ben Thurlow visited Thamesmead School in Shepperton on Wednesday (19th September) to donate rugby balls to the school's Physical Education Department.
He also coached two training sessions with Thamesmead's Year 7 and Year 9 rugby teams. The sessions focused on developing the boys passing accuracy, power and delivery off both hands.
Ben said: "Having attended a local school myself means I have first hand knowledge of how valuable and important sports equipment is and I'm glad that we have been able to assist one of our local schools by donating them rugby balls. I'm positive that Thamesmead's rugby teams will put them to good use as the effort they showed in training was outstanding."
Thamesmead School PE Teacher, Matthew Reeves said: "Support such as this is great inspiration for our young players and I'm delighted that Harlequins have supported us with equipment."
"The boys really enjoyed the sessions and they are looking forward to using their new kit next week in training."
Thamesmead School will be visiting the Twickenham Stoop Stadium this Saturday (22nd September) for the Guinness Premiership match between Harlequins and Leeds Carnegie, kick-off 5.00pm.
