Harlequins make one change to the team that started their pre-season friendly against Connacht last Friday (7th September) for their opening Guinness Premiership fixture of the 2007/08 season against London Irish at Twickenham Stadium tomorrow (Saturday 15th September) in the London Double Header, kick-off 3.30pm.
In the back division, Hal Luscombe has recovered from the injury he sustained against Manu Samoa last month (17th August) and partners Jordan Turner-Hall in the midfield. Luscombe's return means Ugo Monye switches to the left wing in place of Simon Keogh, who is amongst the replacements. Chris Malone will make his Quins Premiership debut at fly half.
In the pack, Aston Croall is preferred to short-term signing Christophe Laurent at hooker, while Academy player Chris Robshaw makes his Premiership debut in the back row. Will Skinner is on the bench, having recovered from the injury he picked up against Bristol a fortnight ago (1st September).
"This season we will be looking to build on our mid-table finish in the league last year," said Dean Richards, Harlequins Director of Rugby. "We have worked hard during pre-season and key players have returned back from injury just in time for the start of the Guinness Premiership campaign."
"London Irish only finished two points above us last year so I think the game tomorrow looks set to be a thrilling encounter. They possess a strong attacking side, while under the leadership of their captain Bob Casey they are set to be a very difficult team to play against."
