Rugby Union is a winter sport, and when you think of winter you think of mud and rain. The first we cannot do anything about owing to 30 rugby players running around on a reasonably small pitch, but the second we can.
Harlequins are pleased to announce that this Saturday, when Quins play Cardiff Blues in the second round of the Heineken Cup, the South Stand will be covered by a brand new permanent roof. This now sees the Twickenham Stoop with all its seating areas covered, and even if the players are getting wet, Quins and Cardiff fans will be nice and dry; although I would still recommend you wear your thermals!
There is now more of a reason to book your tickets for the next Quins home match. After putting up a great fight against this season's favourites to lift the Heineken Cup, Stade Francais, Quins are looking to get their Heineken Cup campaign back on track, starting with Cardiff Blues on Saturday, kick off 15.30.
