An opening try in the 11th minute by new signing Netani Talei was scored from a quick ball from the 5m line from a turnover in the ruck. The conversion was missed by their fly half James Brown.
A break from Hala'ufia saw the offload taken by Will Skinner in support, with a 2 on 1, Ugo Monye took the ball over the line. Conversion was from Malone, taking the Quins ahead.
A kick and chase from Danny Care saw Garvey penalized for holding onto the ball, and Malone converted. 10-5.
In the 27th minute, after a high tackle from Hala'ufia, referee Chris White showed a yellow card, and Quins were reduced to 14 men.
The resulting penalty saw James Brown put 3 points on the Worcester score.
With 34 minutes gone on the clock, Quins gave away a penalty, which they kicked to touch. From the line out the ball was driven forward and taken over the line by Worcester number 2, Aleki Lutui. Worcester changed their kicker, and the conversion was sealed by Loki Crichton.
Quins came back to full strength with Hala'ufia returning to the field, with 3 minutes on the clock. Worcester were penalized and from the penalty, Quins chose to kick to touch, and from the lineout Danny Care took the ball, sent it to the blind side for Ugo Monye to score his second try of the match. The try was converted by Malone. 17-15.
In the last kick of the first half, Crichton kicked a penalty and put Worcester ahead going into the break with the score line 17-18.
At the beginning of the second half both teams spent a good 15 minutes in each other's halves with no points to show for their efforts.
A yellow card was shown to Marcel Garvey for deliberate hands in the ruck and Worcester were down to 14 men. Harlequins took advantage of the extra man and quick hands down from the line out saw Mike Brown take a wide pass from Hal Luscombe and go over in the corner. Malone missed the conversion. 22-18.
After a flood of substitutions from Worcester, their revitalized pack came back and captain Pat Sanderson touched down in the 71st minute. 22-23.
Even though Quins placed pressure on Worcester in the dying minutes, Worcester were relieved when Ugo Monye was penalized for holding on to the ball and kicked the ball into touch. The final whistle followed shortly.
