Ahead of the Amlin Challenge Cup Round 2 game against Cavalieri Prato on Saturday, Director of Rugby Conor O'Shea gives his reaction to the Round 1 Pool 1 action, including Prato's win over last year's semi-finalists, Connacht.
Speaking about Quins' own Round 1 performance away at Bayonne, O'Shea had nothing but praise for the fans.
"I would like to thank all those supporters who made the trip to the South of France at the weekend. In truly horrendous conditions I thought both players and supporters alike showed tremendous fortitude in braving the elements and I have no doubt that whilst we were disappointed not to sneak the win, the bonus point earned will be invaluable to us as the competition unfolds and was due in no small part to those supporters who never stopped getting behind the guys."
Harlequins' opponents on Saturday are Cavalieri Prato, who make their first appearance in European competition this season after being promoted from Serie A to the Super 10. In their first game, they overcame Connacht and O'Shea knows not to take them for granted on Saturday.
"They got a brilliant result last week on their maiden game in Europe against Connacht but now we are all forewarned and the adage that there are no easy games anymore rings very true."
