Since joining Harlequins from Northampton Saints in the summer of 2010, and making his debut in October against Cavalieri Prato, Gray has done nothing but impress. The former England U20 hooker went on to make 27 appearances for the London club last season, firmly establishing himself in Conor O'Shea's starting front row. The final game of the season against Stade Francais in the Amlin Challence Cup final saw him play the full 80 minutes to help Quins claim victory.

His contribution to Quins' season was recognised when Stuart Lancaster named him in his England Saxons squad for this summer's Churchill Cup campaign, and many believe him to be a contender for the future England number 2 shirt.
