Last month, Harlequins' fly-half Nick Evans paid a visit to Gravesend rugby club as a part of the Amlin Man of the Match + Award.
This award sees players, who were named man of the match in last season's Amlin Cup games, visit clubs of their choice to provide kit and equipment.
Evans, who was awarded the Man of the Match award in Quins' Amlin Challenge Cup Final victory against Stade Français, chose the Kent based club for their continued help and support with Harlequins.
The former All-Black provided Gravesend with Amlin branded balls, cones, ladders, hurdles and bibs. The 31 year old also saw this as a prime opportunity to show off the Amlin Challenge Cup.
During his visit, Evans watched a number of training sessions and even joined in a touch session with Gravesend's U14s.
Commenting on the day, eight year old Henry Bowler said:
"I was really excited to meet Nick Evans at Gravesend as I had seen him play at the Stoop two days earlier against Northampton. I could tell that he was from New Zealand because he had a funny accent, just like my old year two teacher Mrs O' Connor at Holy Trinity School.
"It was good to see the Amilin Cup again because I had got to see it when I was on the Harlequins training course in the summer holidays.
"I am not sure how Nick Evans got all the kit down to Gravesend as he didn't arrive in a van. I can't wait to use all of the new kit. It was really nice of Harlequins and Nick to think of our club."
Also speaking of the day, Harlequins' liaison officer Tracey Slade said:
"Everyone involved at Gravesend RFC would like to thank Harlequins for putting us forward for the kit which we very gratefully received, to European Rugby and Amlin for the kit and to Nick Evans, for spending his Sunday morning with the children.
"So many of the children at Gravesend have gained so much from our Community Relationship with Quins and have had so much fun participating in the Curtain Raiser Cup, being part of the Guard of Honour on match days, attending the Harlequins Rugby Clubs hosted at Gravesend during school holidays and watching the Mighty Quins themselves at The Stoop.
"Harlequins' fan base in this part of North Kent has certainly increased and I'm sure the children in Black & White will show their appreciation even more when they next come up to Twickenham to watch the best Fly-Half around, and remember the day he was kind enough to come and visit us! Thank you Nick and Quins!"
Evans will also be presenting Old Rutlishians with equipment after his Man of the Match award during Harlequins' 32-22 quarter-final victory over London Wasps.
