Rugby World editor, Paul Morgan, who chairs the panel, commented:
"The Quins have made a sensational start to the season and Nick has shown exactly why he should be 12,000 miles away in New Zealand as part of the All Blacks World Cup squad. But New Zealand's loss is Harlequins' gain as Nick continues to demonstrate why he is one of the best foreign players ever to take the field in the Aviva Premiership".
Evans spoke of the pride he felt for being named September's Aviva Premiership Player of the Month:
"I am lucky to be in a team that allows me to play the way I want to. We enjoy playing together and the results so far have reflected that. The support off the pitch from the coaches and Quins fans is great and I am looking for a great season in the Aviva Premiership.
"The charity I have chosen is Breast Cancer Care because of the great work they do. At the end of the month we are joining forces with them for Tackled Pink. It will be ladies day at the Stoop (Saturday 29th October) when we take on Exeter Chiefs, so not only should it be a great match, but the ladies can enjoy some pre-match pampering as well.
Harlequins' Director of rugby Conor O'Shea, said:
"Nick is a worthy recipient of the award. He has set the standards both in training and in his professionalism on and off the pitch. He serves as a great example to all of us.
Louisa Cheetham, Head of Sponsorship at Premiership Rugby sponsors Aviva added:
"Nick has made an outstanding contribution to the Aviva Premiership this season - his unerring boot is testament to both his professional approach and his commitment to Harlequins' cause. He is a worthy winner of the award."
