On Tuesday the 6th December Harlequins Community team delivered a one off showpiece session of the tackling numbers programme to some very special VIPs from Brazil.
The delegates from Brazil, including Mr Guilherme Guimaraes , Director of sport for Rio, Judith Hemery, from the British Council of sport London and Wayne Morris of Premiership Rugby, dropped in to observe a tackling numbers session at Ashford Church of England primary school in Ashford.
The classroom session was up and running when the VIPs arrived. They took the opportunity to walk around the class and have a chat with the children about the work they were doing. This was then followed by a practical session of the coaching programme.
Brian Holland, Harlequins Community Coach said:
"This was a great opportunity for us at Harlequins to showcase this programme to the guys from Brazil. From what we have seen over the past two seasons, this programme has had a massive impact on all the children, not just in their rugby, but it also has improved their number skills."
