"This Saturday, we welcome Leicester Tigers as the LV= Cup resumes with rounds 3 and 4 taking place over the next fortnight...
"The defeat in Galway last Friday was clearly a bitter disappointment as,consequently, we missed the chance to win a competitive group and so qualify for the last 8 of the Heineken Cup. As a squad, we frequently refer to the "journey" we are on, and we mustreluctantly accept that there will be setbacks along the way. The competition has provided some thrilling memories for all concerned with Harlequins; for example, the victory in Toulouse is one that will never be forgotten.
"Such highs made the failure to jump the final hurdle all the harder to take, but there is the significant consolation of an Amlin Cup Quarte Final in April against Toulon. It is a daunting but exciting challenge, and one we will greet with huge relish as we attempt to retain the trophy we won so dramatically last May in Cardiff.
"Good news came to the squad last week, with the AXV recording a resounding win against Bath at the Stoop. The bonus point victory meant that we qualified for the semi final, which will also take place away at Northampton on Monday April 23rd.
"Back to this weekend, and the side will be looking to build on the 2 excellent victories already recorded in the competition against Irish at home and Sale away in October. With the club having proudly waved goodbye to as many as 10 England and England Saxons players, the next two rounds will provide a further opportunity for some players who will not have had much 1st XV rugby recently.
"As usual, our focus will lie in getting our processes right this weekend - we have an unshakeable belief as a squad that no matter what the competition, if we put our real game on the park, we are more than a match for anyone.
"I trust that the Stoop will again see an energised and totally committed 80 minute display, whoever steps out in that famous Quins shirt."
