Fresh from their Aviva Premiership Rugby Semi-Final, the Harlequins players participated in an Apprentice-style baking challenge to bake the best Elizabeth Sponge cake and decorate and sell 1,000 cup cakes to make as much money for the charities as possible. Forwards Mark Lambert, Olly Kohn, Rob Buchannan, Joe Marler and Will Skinner competed along with backs Matt Hopper and Nick Evans.

"We have a forwards baking club at Harlequins so I knew the forwards wouldn't let the side down," said Mark Lambert. "On top of this, we've raised loads of money for Sport Relief and the RPA Benevolent Fund which is the icing on the cake!"

The players were baking at the Sainsbury's Food Centre in central London where their best efforts were judged by Judith Batchelar, Director of Sainsbury's Brand, and Silver Spoon Ambassador, Eric Lanlard who created the Elizabeth Sponge, before they sold cakes to Sainsbury's colleagues and the staff at Aviva Investors.

Premiership Rugby has recently become an official partner of Comic Relief and has been supporting the Sport Relief campaign this year.
