Double Olympic Gold Medallist and local hero Mo Farah is heading to The Stoop for the Aviva Premiership match against Saracens on Sunday September 30.
Farah's charity - the Mo Farah Foundation - is the nominated charity for the day as Harlequins bring the hugely successful summer of sport to a close with a local derby against rivals Saracens.
The Mo Farah Foundation was set up by Mo and his wife Tania in 2011 after a personal visit to Somalia where they witnessed some of the devastating effects the famine crisis has had on the people of East Africa.
Seeing this devastation had a huge impact on them both and they decided that not only must more be done to assist with the provision of aid, but also to raise awareness of the situation to those that can help. It is these two pillars that form the basis of the Foundation.
There are several key areas that the Foundation has concentrated on in its effort to 'make a difference' such as emergency aid through the distribution of food parcels, identifying areas most in need of water wells and building them, supporting farmers through the provision of agricultural tools and livestock and also supporting medical camps.
The Mo Farah Foundation has just launched its newest project to build and support an orphanage and sports academy in Somalia of which completion is expected in 2013.
Mo Farah commented: "Every Penny makes a difference and that's exactly what we aim to do with your help and support"
In addition to Mo, Alyson Fitzgerald who carried the Olympic Torch on its journey will be at The Stoop running a lap of honour to continue the Olympic theme.
